Other events coming up…
In support of Faversham Magna Carta Weekend (Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th June) we will have a fantastic Abbey Willow/Bamboo Cloisters installation in our Front Yard! The work is by Creek Creative’s own Anne MacLaren and designer Georgia Horton, and serves as a little reminder of further medieval events later in the year – most notably our Faversham Abbey Virtually illuminated (FAVi) live ‘light sculpture’ performance on 24th October, starting at 7pm with a lantern procession.
Linocut artist and print expert Hugh Ribbans will be in the Upper Gallery over the weekend, printing personalised Abbey Seals’ on his table top ‘mangle press’, and small kids can have a go at marble printing using an Abbey window stencil.
Although our chef Lorraine King (Alsace Baking) is away on Sunday 14th, she is baking a very special gluten-free dairy-free Medieval Honey Cake to help us all celebrate the Magna Carta 800 here in Faversham!
For more information about Faversham’s Magna Carta 800 celebrations see: Faversham Magna Carta on www.faversham.org or Faversham Magna Carta on Facebook
2015 is ‘The International Year of Light’ *, so our next OPEN EXHIBITION is coming up in June (16th) in the Upper Gallery, and has the theme ‘Day Light’. Open to all local artists & makers! £10 per work displayed (Max 3 works per artist). Deadline for entries is 10am Monday 15th June… [* http://www.light2015.org/Home.html]
