NEWS (see also our Facebook Page) + look inside Creek Creative: take the VIRTUAL TOUR
We are currently working on Virtual Gallery ideas which may work scheduled into our online calendar. In the meantime, watch this space for the inevitable retrospective on past exhibitions, starting with the show posters.
PUBLIC HEALTH STATEMENT – Coronavirus UPDATE (COVID-19):
Creek is still operating with essential services only, all our exhibitions are postponed or cancelled, as are most workshops/classes, but some can now be found as online versions (see below). Some if not all of our broader range of services may be restored at short notice (we hope), and we remain optimistic for an early lifting of the now familiar yet drastic restrictions that we all have endured in recent weeks. Thankfully we have now received some vital and significant support via Swale BC to sustain Creek through this initial phase of these radically challenging times. The artists’ studios will remain available in accordance with the latest guidelines, maintaining social distancing with enhanced hygiene standards where appropriate to minimise the risks. For everyone’s safety we need cooperation on site, within the building artist/residents are advised to not bring more than one person to their studio/workshop at any time, keep at least 2m apart, wash hands / use sanitisers frequently, and stay alert. Click here for latest UK Gov “Staying alert and safe (social distancing)” guidelines.
LATEST ONLINE SERVICES
If you booked before lockdown, or were previously interested in a course, please check with your workshop tutor via phone or email as to whether they are offering a virtual / online tuition service, either in progress or planned. The latest tutor to offer an online class is Martin Kelly. Click here to see examples of Martin’s work.
Introducing a new ‘Online Watercolour Class’ with Martin Kelly 2 – 4pm Wednesday 20th May + free 15 minute test session at 1pm Tuesday 19th May. Class sessions are on Zoom app. Beginners welcome. To book or for further information contact: email@example.com
The last exhibition in the Lower Gallery opened from Tuesday 17th to Sunday 22nd March for #1Week Only and was an MA Student #GroupShow installation of challenging sculptural & painted works from Melanie Jordan, Nicole Antras & Ali Lees. (Meet the Artists was 1-5pm Saturday 21st March).
Wheelchair users please note that we do have #WheelchairAccess on both levels, but for the Lower Gallery access is from the back (on Belvedere Road): Cafe or Shop staff will need to be alerted (via the main Abbey Street entrance) to go down and open the double Fire Doors for the rear ramp, then guide people through the corridor.
THE LOWER GALLERY IS AVAILABLE TO HIRE… Call 01795 535515 (additional space in development)

If you are interested in exhibiting in the Lower Gallery currently the cost is £160 per week (+ 20% sales commission), with plenty of gaps in the calendar! Please note there are two rooms: the main room as shown in the photos, and the second, which currently still suffers water intrusion, but is uniquely atmospheric and includes an amazing 30m tunnel (ideal for unusual installations). The Lower Gallery is favoured by those exhibitors wishing for a dedicated space (with higher ceiling in the main room), more flexible layout, and peaceful atmosphere in contrast with the busy Upper Gallery.

The panoramic photos below show the Kent County photographic Association ‘Annual Print & PDI Exhibition’ 2019, which occupied both the Upper & Lower Galleries for three weeks from Tuesday 30th April to Sunday 19th May.
This KCPA exhibition was their fifth consecutive ‘Annual Print & PDI Exhibition’ here at Creek and included an excellent range of high quality photography submitted by Camera Club members, shortlisted from the many clubs based in the South East.
