5th August 2026 update… Almost all our studios are occupied, however with a recent change of mind one Top Floor studio is available now (Z2 03), plus one deskspace (Z2 08h), and then two Basement Level studios (ZG 10 & 11) will be up for grabs from November. There is room for size flexibility in that Studio ZG 11 has an upsized layout, but can be altered so that Studio ZG 10 regains its rear section, and ZG 11 returns to its original size (see Floor Plans below).

For some of our artists & makers sustainability is a constant challenge, so do get in touch about temporary (or longer-term) studio-share options which do come up occasionally. We do have a waiting list, but the spaces that come up do not always fit the requirements of those waiting. If you are interested you can get an idea of the spaces from our Timewarp Tour (thus named as it is five/six years out of date!). CREEK CREATIVE STUDIO HOLDERS IN 2026

Currently 43 local artists, makers & other creative practitioners share 34 of the 35 rentable studios, which vary in size and character from raw workshops to tidy office studios. There are seven co-working deskspaces on the Top Floor – three rented as doubles and four as singles (although total varies: it’s ten if all five double-desks are occupied separately as singles). As mentioned above one deskspace (Z2 08h) is available now, so do get in touch if interested, and that includes potential ‘Hot Desking’ options… Please also refer to the Floor Plans on the Room Hire page. The most recent extra studios (ZG 09 & 13) on the Basement level are no longer available. Sometime in the future the current workshop/store or possible ‘Backstage’ studio (ZG 15) may become available to rent, which would bring the total up to 36 studios.

Creek provides a sense of community, opportunity, and purpose, as catalysts for professional development in the arts, where exchanged skills, ideas, resources, contacts and experience can support collaboration or independence, and provide promotion when needed. Potential advantages such as commission leads, economies of scale, or sales and social network support, can maximise creative productivity. At the core is a friendly workplace for talented, but often isolated or undiscovered practitioners, which has built up organically over several years to become a valuable asset of the town, by stimulating its occupants, local artists, the local economy, and visiting public alike.

CURRENT BUILDING SPACE ALLOCATIONS

By December 2019 we had converted the ex-Performance Space on the Basement level into two more studios, with a third added by March 2020, and completed a fourth studio conversion on that level for occupation from September 2020. As of April 2025 we have increased the available studios total to 34 with 7 deskspaces, and reworked the some corridors/access more efficiently (again the extra spaces and major changes have been on the Basement level). Once again we are seeking more serious funding support to enhance most of the studios on this level: sadly we were turned down by the Arts Council (ACE) back in December 2024. All workspaces are offered at affordable rates, subsidised in part by a range of facilities and additional activities provided by the company such as the Gallery Kitchen Café, Artisan Shop, exhibitions (in Upper or Lower Galleries), with various events and art/craft courses (often delivered by resident artists).
